24 Hour Race
On 7 – 8 December 2019, cyclists from Jozi and around the country will embark on the first ever 24 hour road cycle race in Africa!
The atmosphere of Red Star Raceway and the challenges faced in outdoor ‘racetrack’ arena around the clock will make this a unique experience for the South African cycling community.
You don’t have to be a professional cyclist. And you don’t have to cycle for 24 hours straight.
This race will require an out-of-the-ordinary approach to your athletic, organisational and strategic skills, resulting in a success that no other race can offer.
During the 24 hours, everyone will find their own personal challenges. Individual riders as well as teams of 2, 4, 5 and 6 will compete in their respective categories. Both extreme cyclists and reasonably trained amateur cyclists will get their money’s worth, equally.
The race takes place in a safe, exciting and very well controlled environment, creating unforgettable memories for all.
All riders will have race timing chips on their bikes with accurate race timing, by Bout Time Events and a dedicated area in the cycle pit-stop to set up race camp.
Paramedics and 24 hour marshalling will be available to all.
The weekend will be filled with fun, entertainment for all, cocktail bars, great food and a party in true South African style.
